THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME
It all began in Antiquity.
At that time, perfume was not a luxury, but a sacred ritual. It was referred to as per fumum – “through smoke”. The wisps of burning essences rose towards the sky, carrying prayers, vows, and invisible messages addressed to the gods.
It is in this same tradition, where perfume is a link between the tangible and the intangible, that the name DAENA is rooted.
In Zoroastrianism, Daena is a divine figure: she embodies consciousness, inner vision, and revelation. She was honored with flowers, aromas, and fragrances. She was not only venerated, she was felt.
